Azerbaijani envoy to U.S. visits College of William & Mary

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the United States Elin Suleymanov has visited the College of William & Mary (W&M).

The ambassador met students of the international living learning community Reves Hall, which is William & Mary`s own "Global Village," housing international and domestic students with an interest in international affairs.

Azerbaijan`s importance to the region and the United States topped the discussions between students and the ambassador.

Suleymanov answered questions over a number of issues, including participation of Azerbaijan in Eurovision, the country`s relations with Israel and Iran.

The ambassador advised the future diplomats to take part in study abroad programs.
Suleymanov himself earned his master`s degree at the University of Toledo and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.

Professors of the College talked with the diplomat about significance of Azerbaijan, its natural resources, and role in the global diplomacy.

William & Mary is a public research university located in Williamsburg, Virginia. Privately founded in 1693 by letters patent issued by King William III and Queen Mary II, it is the second-oldest institution of higher education in the United States after Harvard University.
