Uzbek president hosts new Azerbaijani ambassador

Uzbek President Islam Karimov on Tuesday received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan Huseyn Guliyev, the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan (UzA) reported.

During the meeting, President Karimov said that the Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations are developing dynamically and successfully in almost all directions. Regular meetings on the highest level can openly discuss current issues of both bilateral and international agenda.

Uzbek president's visit to Azerbaijan in October 2012 gave a new impetus to cooperation in economic, trade, transport, communication, cultural and humanitarian fields.

Guliyev assured that his main task as ambassador is primarily to preserve and increase experience of mutually beneficial relations, implementation of new joint projects and agreements that meet the interests of both countries and nations.

On the same day. the Uzbek president received credentials of newly appointed ambassadors of Switzerland - Nicolas Bruel, Jordan - Muhammad Nur Osman Yusuf Balkar and Afghanistan - Muhammad Sadek Daudzai, UzA reported.

The president congratulated them for starting honorable and responsible mission in Uzbekistan and wished them success in the further development of bilateral relations.

Swiss Ambassador Bruel noted that there is considerable scope for the expansion of bilateral cooperation, and he is willing to do all their best for it.

Ambassador of Jordan stressed that the leadership of the Kingdom focuses on the expansion of relations with Uzbekistan, which, despite the adverse effects of the global financial and economic crisis, surely demonstrates sustainable development dynamics, opening new opportunities to promote relations in various fields.

During the meeting with the Ambassador of Afghanistan was noted that the historical ties of friendship, a long tradition of good-neighborliness and mutual aid are the solid basis for strengthening the modern Uzbek-Afghan dialogue in all areas of mutual interest.

Muhammad Daudzai said that in his country they accept with deep gratitude the assistance from Uzbekistan to the restoration of the Afghan economy, and attach special importance to the deepening of mutually beneficial relations with the Uzbek side.
