Baku hosts event over 50th anniversary of Elysee Treaty
An event on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Elysee Treaty was held on Tuesday in the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy, Trend news agency reported.
"The Elysee Treaty boosts the politics of reconciliation between peoples," French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Meunier, who attended the event, said.
He said it created the Franco-German Office for Youth and encouraged the twinning of cities and schools. "This cooperation has endured; remarkable cultural initaitves ensued, including the creation of the French-German television channel Arte and the establishment of a common literary prize, the Genshagen Foundation Award in 2010," Meunier said during his speech.
