Azerbaijan, Russia to discuss problems with border queues

Azerbaijani and Russian customs will hold a meeting to solve the problems at the border, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee said on Wednesday, Trend news agency reported.

"Many cars trying to cross the border have been recently observed at the Samur customs checkpoint of the State Customs Committee's Khachmaz Customs Department of the Azerbaijani-Russian border," a statement said.

The State Customs Committee said that the queues are not connected with problems on the Azerbaijani side.

According to the Committee, the main cause of the problems is the very long procedures of checking cars at the Magerramkend checkpoint in Dagestan.

"Azerbaijani customs' bodies promptly ensure the process of passenger and car passing through the state border," the statement said.

Senior employees of customs from the two countries will meet at the Azerbaijani-Russian border on Thursday, December 20 to resolve this problem.
