Azeri cell operator signs partnership agreement with Manchester United
Azerbaijani mobile operator Bakcell on Monday signed a partnership agreement with England's football club Manchester United.
The contract envisages providing financial support by the operator to the club, and the club, in its turn, will contribute to the company's marketing strategy.
According to Forbes, Manchester United ranks first in the ranking of the most expensive sports teams. Forbes estimates the value of Manchester United at $2.23 billion.
Manchester United is one of the most successful clubs in England for the number of its titles in its history, and for the past 20 years - the most successful club in England, which won 27 major trophies since November 1986, when the team was led by Sir Alex Ferguson.
In the 2010/11 season, Manchester United won the championship of England for the record 19th time, leaving behind Liverpool.
In 1968, Manchester United became the first English club which won the European Cup. In 1999 the club won a major European club trophy for the second time, leaving behind Munich's Bavaria in the final. In 2008, Manchester United again won the Champions League, beating London's Chelsea in the final.
