Armenia’s occupation policy may worsen situation, Azeri minister tells US Amb
The continued occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia may aggravate the situation in the South Caucasus, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev said at a meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar on Wednesday.
Abiyev spoke about the military and political situation in the region and the problems caused by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He also stressed the need to step up the activity of the mediating OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmen to resolve the conflict, the Defense Ministry said.
The sides exchanged views on bilateral strategic relations, as well as achievements in military cooperation.
