Azeri FM discusses Karabakh with Chinese MPs
Armenian armed forces must be withdrawn from Azerbaijan's occupied territories for a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said at a meeting with a delegation led by Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress (NPC) Li Zhaoxing, the Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
Mammadyarov thanked the Chinese side for its continued support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The parties emphasized the cooperation between the two countries in various fields over the past 20 years, the available broad potential for its further development, the importance of contacts between Azerbaijani and Chinese parliaments, as well as contribution of visits to inter-parliamentary relations.
Li Zhaoxing expressed satisfaction with the existing relations and pointed to opportunities for cooperation. He highly assessed Azerbaijan's election as a UN Security Council non-permanent member for 2012-2013 and the country's activity in the UNSC.
