Baku to host OSCE PA session in 2014
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly`s summer session will be held in Baku in 2014, parliament deputy speaker Bahar Muradova, who heads the Azerbaijani delegation to OSCE PA, has said.
Muradova recalled that Azerbaijan previously proposed holding the OSCE PA`s spring session in Baku in 2014. But the assembly`s general secretariat suggested after looking into the matter holding a summer session in the Azerbaijani capital instead.
``Today, a letter with the consent of the Azerbaijani parliament will be sent to the OSCE secretary general,`` Muradova said. ``The conduct of a session in Baku is very important in terms of the relations between Azerbaijan and the OSCE PA as well as Azerbaijan`s position in the world.``
