Interior ministry dismisses isolation of homosexuals
Azerbaijan`s Interior Ministry has dismissed media reports about isolating more than 100 homosexuals.
The reports, claiming a crackdown on homosexuals in the capital, Baku, have no merit and are a provocation against the Azerbaijani state, spokesman Sadig Gozalov told Trend news agency on Tuesday.
Some media outlets reported earlier that a special operation had been carried out in Baku against homosexuals and that they would not be let into the city and be kept under strict control until the end of the Eurovision song contest due in the Azerbaijani capital in late May.
