Turkish businessman reportedly wanted over fraud

An international search has been announced by Egyptian authorities for the owner of Evsen Group operating in Azerbaijan on charges of fraud, the Baku-based APA news agency reported referring to the Interpol website.
Ali Evsen, 49, is reportedly a citizen of three countries - Turkey, Azerbaijan and Albania. He is a brother-in-law of Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazada, chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, Azerbaijan`s senior clerical body.
Last summer, Evsen was arrested in Spain along with Hussein Salem, a businessman close to Egypt`s former president Hosni Mubarak, on suspicion of money laundering, bribery and corruption. But Evsen was released a month thereafter after the charges brought against him were not proven.
Evsen began doing business in Azerbaijan in the early 1990s. He founded here and incorporated into Evsen Group such businesses as the Star taxi company; Elit shopping mall; refrigerator, air conditioner and domestic appliances plants in Shamakhi, A-leasing company, and carmaker Azsamand. But after differences emerged with Azerbaijani authorities in 2008, he began selling out his business in the country, reports claim.
That same year, Evsen purchased Albanian Airlines and Eagle Aviation France company.
