Fuel carrying train derails in Azerbaijan
A train carrying oil products from the Azerbaijani capital Baku to Georgia crashed in Azerbaijan’s Hajigabul region early on Monday. Six of the 57 railway carriages derailed and three of them turned over.
According to Nadir Azmammadov, the Azerbaijan Railways spokesman, the cargo of gas oil was owned by Kazakhstan and was being transported to the Georgian town of Batumi. The oil products were not spilled as the railway carriages were hermetically sealed.
"The carriages have already been put back on the tracks," Azmammadov said. "No one was hurt in the accident."
