Azeri Islamic party exec gets jail sentence
Deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Islamic Party was sentenced to a year and a half in prison on Thursday, his lawyer said.
Arif Ganiyev was convicted by a Sumgayit city court on charges of illegal possession of arms and drugs.
Ganiyev has no plans to appeal the court ruling, the defense lawyer, Anar Gasymov, said.
