Aliyev, Basescu get award from group of Black Sea, Caspian states

Azerbaijani and Romanian Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Traian Basescu have been conferred an award of an international group promoting cooperation among the Black Sea and Caspian littoral states for their comprehensive support to the organization’s activity.

The decision to award the honorary diplomas was made by the steering board of the International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea at its meeting in Bucharest, which was devoted to the results of the BSCSIF’s activity in 2011.

The Bucharest-based Fund was established in 2009 to contribute to the cooperation between the Black Sea and Caspian coastal countries and rapprochement among their nations by promoting the activity of civil society organizations. Besides Azerbaijan and Romania, the Fund’s members are Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, and Serbia.
