Int’l airport opens in northwestern Azerbaijan
An international airport opened in Azerbaijan’s northwestern town of Gabala on Thursday, in a ceremony attended by President Ilham Aliyev.
This brings the number of international airports in Azerbaijan to six. International flights have so far been carried out from the airports in the capital Baku, Ganja, the country’s second largest city, the Nakhchivan autonomous republic, as well as in the Lankaran and Zagatala regions.
During his visit to the Gabala region, President Aliyev also inaugurated the five-star Caucasus Sport Hotel. The hotel, which consists of the seven-story main building and cottages, has 98 suites.
