Clerical body to take care of two Turkish quake survivor families
Azerbaijan’s senior clerical body has offered to assist two families in Turkey affected by the devastating earthquake that hit the eastern part of the country in late October.
Caucasus Muslims Office chairman, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazada wrote in a letter to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that he invites two most affected families from the Van province to live in Azerbaijan with CMO’s support while the aftermath of the quake is being eliminated.
Pashazada added that CMO "would be delighted to fulfill the moral duty to provide every care to those families".
Around 600 people have been killed and over 4,100 injured after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Turkey on October 23. On November 9, a 5.6 magnitude quake occurred in the country, with 39 deaths reported so far.
