Eurovision corrects website error on Baku history
BAKU – The error regarding the history of the Azerbaijani capital Baku has been corrected on the Eurovision song contest’s website.
The website previously showed the city as the Persian capital. The introductory page about Baku said: "The historical centre of Baku reveals its past, from its roots as a Persian capital." After Azerbaijan’s interference, the sentence was changed and now reads: "The historical centre of Baku reveals its past, from its roots as an ancient city, through its oil boom to its Soviet occupation."
