Armenian troops severely wound Azeri soldier
BAKU – Armenian armed forces have severely wounded an Azerbaijani soldier in a ceasefire violation on the contact line of the two countries’ troops, deputy spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry, Teymur Abdullayev, has said.
The 19-year-old serviceman was wounded near Azerbaijan’s frontline Fuzuli region.
The two neighboring countries have been locked in conflict for two decades. 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territory has been under Armenian occupation since a precarious cease-fire was signed in 1994 following a lengthy war. Sporadic clashes on the frontline continue.
