BAKU – Azerbaijan’s Interior Minister Ramil Usubov has appointed a new head of the ministry’s Main Security Department.
Yashar Aliyev will step down as deputy chief of Baku’s police department to take the new position, according to the minister’s orders.
The commander of the ministry’s prompt response police force, Sahlab Baghirov, will succeed Aliyev as the deputy police chief.
In February, President Ilham Aliyev ordered to re-assign head of the ministry’s security department Madat Guliyev to the post of chief of the Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Service.
