Azeri environment minister discusses joint projects in Qatar
QATAR – Azerbaijani Ecology Minister Huseyngulu Baghirov is visiting Qatar to discuss progress in implementing joint projects. The visit is being paid at the invitation of Qatari Minister of Environment, Abdulla bin Mubarak bin Aboud Al-Madadi.
The two countries are implementing a three-year project on returning falcons to their habitats, and 41 birds have been returned so far, according to the Azerbaijani embassy in Qatar.
Azerbaijan and Qatar are also studying a draft agreement on cooperation in environmental protection which is to be signed in the near future.
The Azerbaijani environment minister is paying his first official visit to Qatar. His Qatari counterpart visited Azerbaijan in 2010.
