Baku protests India's opposition to UN paper
Azerbaijan has voiced protest to India that voted against a
United Nations resolution demanding unconditional pullout of the
Armenian armed forces from the occupied territories forwarded by
Baku in March.
"The Foreign Ministry's note expressed discontent with the
country's position on the issue," the Azerbaijani ambassador to
India Tamerlan Garayev said. "The note has already been submitted
to the Indian Foreign Ministry, and we are currently awaiting their
response."
39 countries voted for the document passed at the UN General
Assembly, despite opposition of the states brokering settlement to
the Armenia-Azerbaijan Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh conflict - the
U.S., Russia and France.
