Israeli envoy: No ‘terror threat’ in Azerbaijan anymore
BAKU – Israeli Ambassador in Baku Michael Lavon-Lotem has said the warning over "a terror threat" in Azerbaijan "is no longer topical."
He told reporters on Tuesday that the Israeli embassy continues operating as before, with all of its staff working.
Israel’s counter terrorism bureau issued a warning on February 11 cautioning Israelis against traveling to eight countries, including Azerbaijan, due to "the increased threat of terror attacks". Israel’s embassy in Azerbaijan was suspended on February 14 over technical reasons, though unconfirmed reports said the measure could be linked to the earlier warning. The diplomatic mission resumed its work on the following day.
