Baku-Izmir flights open

BAKU – Azerbaijan’s state airline AzAL launched direct flights from the capital Baku to Izmir, Turkey on Friday.
The flights will be carried out on Mondays and Fridays on board Airbus 320 aircraft. A one-way ticket costs 218 manats ($272), while a round-trip ticket 352 manats ($440), AzAL said.
The Baku-based airline also plans to carry out flights to three other Turkish cities – Trabzon, Antalya and Bodrum, AzAL spokesman Maharram Safarli told an event devoted to the opening of the flight at the international airport of Izmir on Friday, Turkey’s Zaman daily reported.
AzAL is currently administering flights from Baku to the Turkish cities of Ankara and Istanbul.
