Foreign driver’s licenses to be valid in Azerbaijan for a year
BAKU – Foreign nationals’ driver’s licenses granted outside Azerbaijan will be valid only for one year, the traffic police department spokesman has said.
Kamran Aliyev said that after the validity term of these internationally recognized documents expires, drivers will have to apply for a new license in Azerbaijan.
According to him, a new driver’s license could be granted to people who previously lived abroad and then moved to the country on the basis of notarized translations of their national or international licenses.
"Driver’s licenses could be issued to these persons after they undergo a medical examination and after their knowledge of theory and driving skills on the categories they once held is checked."
