Baku schoolchildren to wear uniforms from next academic year
BAKU – All secondary school students in Baku will wear a standard uniform from the next school year, Baku City Chief Education Department's spokesperson Zamina Aligizi told journalists Wednesday.
She said that in the 2011/2012 school year, about 340,000 pupils studying in 324 schools in the Azerbaijani capital will wear uniforms of a new design.
"Hence, Azerbaijan will use only two designs of school uniforms - for pupils of the 1st-6th grades and those of the 7th-11th grades," Aligizi said.
The cost of school uniforms will not exceed 55 manats ($68).
