CoE to celebrate anniversary of Azerbaijan`s membership
STRASBOURG – A concert and official reception on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s joining to the Council of Europe will be held in Strasbourg, France on January 25-26.
President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mevlut Cavusoglu, representatives of Strasbourg`s institutions of self-government, university teachers and members of Azerbaijan`s Diaspora have been invited to the event.
An Azerbaijani government delegation, including Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev, Supreme Court Chairman Ramiz Rzayev and other officials, will leave Azerbaijan for Strasbourg to attend the anniversary celebrations.
On Jan. 25, 2001 Azerbaijan joined the Council of Europe, making a series of commitments to ensure the country's democratic values, freedom of speech and human rights.
