Turkey’s Gul: Azerbaijan’s occupied lands must be freed
ANKARA – Azerbaijan's territory must be liberated from the Armenian occupation and the principle of territorial integrity of states respected, Turkish President Abdullah Gul told a press conference following a summit of the 10-member Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO), adding the status-quo does not meet anyone’s interests.
He expressed hope the problem would be solved peacefully very soon and refugees would return home.
Gul also said that Turkey supports sound relations with all neighbors. "Armenia is also Turkey's neighbor, and therefore, significant steps have been taken to normalize relations with Armenia," the president said.
