Azerbaijan holds military drills in its enclave
BAKU – Azerbaijan has successfully conducted military exercises in its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, military officials say.
Azerbaijani armed forces employed firearms used by the border troops, weapons modernized at the country’s defense industry facilities, and Cornet missile launchers capable of hitting hostile armored vehicles within a range of up to 5,000 meters.
Azerbaijan’s enclave of Nakhchivan was geographically separated from the country in the past and faced economic blockade by Armenia, which has been occupying over 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territory since a war in the 1990s.
