Azeri, Armenian reps to discuss suspended PACE body
WASHINGTON – Azerbaijani and Armenian delegations to the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly are due to meet officials of the assembly to discuss resuming the work of PACE’s subcommittee on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu said.
Speaking to a press conference prior to PACE’s general meeting Monday, Cavusoglu also said that the outcomes of the meeting, to be held on the sidelines of the organization’s fall session, will be detailed at a meeting of the PACE bureau on Friday.
The subcommittee on the Karabakh conflict was established in 2005 according to a PACE resolution, but its activity was suspended last year due to the death of the subcommittee chairman Lord Russell Johnston.
