Two opposition parties in Azerbaijan unite
BAKU – Azerbaijan’s main opposition party, the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party (APFP) decided at its meeting on Saturday to unite with Musavat, another major party.
APFP deputy chairman Nuraddin Mammadli said that "everything is now up to Musavat’s will".
"We have essentially confirmed our decision. Probably, the other side will consider the issue after the [November 7] parliamentary elections."
Ali Karimli was re-elected APFP chairman at the party’s congress. Karimli, 45, has headed the party since 2000.
