BAKU – A solemn degustation ceremony of the world’s finest French cognac brands was held in Baku last week.

The event was organized by the Caspian Crystal company jointly with the Lheraud House and attended by the youngest, most renowned and the only German sommelier Marcus Del Monego, who holds the world champion title to this day.

The party took place at Caspian Crystal’s Salvador Dali restaurant in Crystal Plaza.

The degustation event, held Wednesday and Thursday, was attended by the managers and owners of the city’s elite restaurants, including Yacht Club, Sunset Café, Sultan’s, Scallini, Pekin, Oscar2, Metkarting, Jasmine, Red Olivia, Opera, OCCO, Mona Liza, Mosaic, Monte Kristo, Manhattan, Maestro, La Strada, Churasko Steak House, Chio Chio San, etc. Also in attendance were executives of five-star hotels – Hyatt Regency, Ramada Hotel, Meridian Hotel, Landmark Hotel, Hotels Group, Riviera Hotel, and Excelsior Hotel.

On Thursday, the event was attended by representatives of major companies, such as Lufthansa, Star-Gulf LLC, Salans, Bon Accord, CNIM Azerbaijan, Auto Star Caucasus, Total, as well as those of the embassies of Germany, France, Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Norway, Britain, Belarus, the United States, Austria, Russia, and Italy. Joining the event as well were officials of the European Union, the World Bank, the United Nations, UNICEF as well as the son of the Lheraud house’s owner Laurent Lheraud.

Exclusive and rare Lheraud cognac brands, dating back to 1820, 1900, 1914, 1950, 1969, and 1972, were delivered to the degustation ceremony from France on Caspian Crystal’s order.
