Azerbaijan keen on boosting ties with Morocco: Parliament chair

BAKU – Azerbaijan attaches great importance to developing relations with Morocco, said the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Asadov during his meeting with the Chairman of the House of Representatives of Morocco Abdelouahed Radi, who is on a visit to Baku.

"We are confident that the visits of high-ranking officials will contribute to the development of our all-round ties. Our two countries have signed seven important documents, and 20 documents are at the stage of signing. But the present level of our economic ties does not conform to the existing potential. A joint inter-governmental commission has already been established. We believe that this commission will play an important role in developing and expanding our cooperation in all fields," Asadov said.

Asadov expressed confidence that this visit will make a special contribution to the development of all-round ties between the two countries. According to Asadov, parliament plays a special role in the development of bilateral ties.

Asadov spoke about economic development and the role of Azerbaijan in the large-scale regional projects. He also provided Radi with extensive information about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, has thanked Morocco for supporting the fair position of Azerbaijan in this regard and expressed confidence that this policy will remain unchanged.

Abdelouahed Radi said his country also attaches great importance to this visit. "The visit serves strengthening our brotherly and friendly relations and solidarity and interests of our states and peoples. There are no obstacles for the development of our relations," he said.
