A delegation of the Agricultural Insurance Fund of Azerbaijan paid a visit to the brotherly country Türkiye to study its experience in the field of agricultural insurance, Azernews reports.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture’s Public Relations and Information Department, the delegation included Azer Mammadov, Head of the International Relations Department of the Fund, and Aysel Hasanova, a department employee.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani representatives held meetings with the Union of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives of Türkiye. At the meeting, the Turkish side was informed about the mechanisms of state support for agriculture in Azerbaijan, the models of applying agricultural insurance, the role of insurance in covering agricultural losses, cooperation between the Agricultural Insurance Fund and TARSIM, as well as opportunities for personnel exchanges and joint experience-sharing between the two countries.

The Union of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, which has 17 regional branches and unites over 1,600 agricultural cooperatives, currently provides services to more than 1 million farmers across 188 service centers. Its main goal is to protect the economic interests of agricultural producers while ensuring access to food, insurance, livestock, fertilizers, seeds, feed, greenhouses, and modern irrigation systems.

The meeting also included presentations on the Union’s role in implementing state support mechanisms for farmers and discussions on improving the efficiency of agricultural insurance. Both sides emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings to further study Türkiye’s successful experience and explore its application in Azerbaijan.
