CoE to observe Azeri parliament elections
BAKU – The Council of Europe will monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.
"A delegation of Council of Europe monitors will pay a long-term visit to Azerbaijan in October to observe the parliamentary elections," head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Samad Seyidov told journalists on Friday.
The Council of Europe will send two delegations to Azerbaijan to observe the elections in the long and short term. A short-term observation mission will monitor the elections, while the delegation will consist of party representatives and Council of Europe deputies, Seyidov said.
Parliamentary elections will be held Nov. 7. The elections are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
