BAKU – Nowadays more than 43 countries - from the United States to Australia, and from Spain to Azerbaijan – annually compete at the Stella Artois Global Draught Master contest.

This year, the 14th Annual Stella Artois Draught Master competition is taking place. AB InBev, the brandowner of Stella Artois, is, after the acquisition of Anheuser Buch, the world’s undisputed leading brewer today.

After its local competition each country has the opportunity to send their winner to the Global Stella Artois Master’s. This year the global competition will be organized in London.

Through the exclusive AB InBev importer ILCHIN LTD in Azerbaijan, all bartenders had the occasion to participate at the competition. More and more bars attend the successful local competition in Baku.

ILCHIN LTD could register this year more than twenty-five restaurants and bars for the competition at the Sea Port restaurant. It consisted of such restaurants as Miracle City, Parus, Hong Kong, Kaiser Pub, Black City, Sea Port, Heyat Club, Pivnaya Bochka, Yaban, Zolotaya Ribka, Tezebey, Trin Tava, Avsarogli, and Tratoriya.

Prior to the local contest on July 28 a full draught training was organized at Sea Port. The trainer was the Stella Artois brew-master Firmin Verleyen from Belgium. The training included a full presentation about the perfect draught practices as well as the on the spot beer pouring training.

Each participant could take the opportunity to build up his own experience before the main competition, which included a semi-final and a final session. During the semi-finals candidates were screened on their skills to perform a smoothless serial pouring act of two Stella Artois glasses. All barmen could cope with the task.

The winner of the Azerbaijan contest was Elchin Khalilov from Miracle City. Kamil Masimov from Parus and Rovshan Ahmadov from Hong Kong were the first and second runners up.

ILCHIN LTD are convinced that they will welcome even more active participation of local barmen in next year’s Local Draught Master in Azerbaijan.

All contestants have received the Perfect Draught Certificate and special gifts from ILCHIN LTD. The winner will go to London on October 28 to represent Azerbaijan in the Stella Artois World Draught Master Competition.
