On August 22, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva visited the Independence Monument in Tashkent, Azernews reports.
A guard of honour was lined up for the President of Azerbaijan here.
President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath at the monument.
The monument, erected in honour of the 30th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence, reflects the three-thousand-year history of the Uzbek people.
The 60-meter-high monument is located at the centre of the "Yangi Uzbekiston" ("New Uzbekistan") complex, which is dedicated to the anniversary of the country's independence and is situated near the capital. It reflects the era marked by the lives and activities of prominent figures.
Then, President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva posed for photographs.
