Azerbaijan protests biased European film on Garabagh
BAKU – Azerbaijan has demanded that the German-French ARTE TV
channel refrain from broadcasting an anti-Azerbaijani film and
remove it from its website.
ARTE TV has recently broadcast the "Haut-Karabakh: Gomchassar" film
by Jean-Marie Barre, which distorted realities about the
Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh.
Azerbaijan’s embassy in France has sent letters protesting the bias
to the TV channel’s president and vice-president. According to the
diplomatic mission, the message condemned the shooting and
broadcasting of such films under the influence of the Armenian
community, saying this adversely affects efforts to settle the
long-standing Garabagh conflict. The embassy also invited ARTE TV
employees to Azerbaijan to shoot an unbiased film about the
dispute.
