IAEA to set up laboratory in Azerbaijan
The International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Deputy Director
General Ana Maria Cetto is in Azerbaijan to inspect preparations
for creating a dosimetry laboratory in the country, according to
the Azerbaijan State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and
Patents.
Cetto discussed the issue with Ramiz Hasanov, chairman of the State
Committee.
Hasanov said the laboratory to be set up this year would be "a
vivid evidence of high-level cooperation" between Azerbaijan and
the IAEA.
The laboratory will be located in Sumgayit, Azerbaijan's largest
industrial city.
Cetto said the IAEA would provide all-rounded assistance to
Azerbaijan in setting up the laboratory.
The laboratory will employ local workforce who will undergo
trainings with IAEA experts this September.*
