Azerbaijan presents sniper rifle to Jordan king
An Azerbaijan-made sniper rifle was displayed at an exhibition
abroad for the first time during the Special Operations Forces
Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) held in Amman, Jordan.
The "Istiglal" rifle was exhibited in the front row of the stand of the Jordanian King’s special troops, alongside other weaponry manufactured by the leading countries that are used by these armed forces.
According to Azerbaijan’s Defense Industry Minister Yaver Jamalov, the rifle was presented to Jordan's King Abdullah II.
"Istiglal" is the first national firearm made by Azerbaijani engineers. The rifle is capable of hitting targets over a 2,200 meter range and can be used against battle machines.*
