Pakistan-UK bound plane makes emergency landing in Baku
A passenger plane traveling from Lahore, Pakistan to Manchester, UK
made an emergency landing at the Heydar Aliyev International
Airport of Baku on Wednesday.
According to Azerbaijan’s state airline AzAL, the landing of the Pakistan Airlines-owned plane was prompted by the health condition of a four-month-old baby flying with his mother, who experienced cramps and fever.
The Pakistani infant, who condition was quickly deteriorating, was rushed to a hospital in an ambulance urgently called in to the airport.
The passengers were left stranded at the airport for about four hours. Given the condition of the patient, doctors warned against taking him on board, therefore, the plane took off toward its destination without the mother and her child.
The condition of the baby is stable, and he and his parent are set to leave Baku in a few days, the Azerbaijan Health Ministry said.*
