Official expects democratic vote in 2008
Azerbaijan will hold democratic elections next year, the
presidential administration chief said.
"We are preparing for the 2008 presidential vote properly,"
Chief-of-Staff of the President's Office Ramiz Mehdiyev told
reporters. He said the elections would be democratic and no one
should doubt that.
"We would like representatives of different forces to run for the
poll," said Mehdiyev, adding that President Ilham Aliyev would
again gain victory in the elections due to his influence.
