Azerigaz workers punished for embezzlement
Sentences have been pronounced to the executives of Azerbaijan’s
state-controlled gas supplier Azerigaz charged with
misappropriation of funds.
The chairman of the closed joint-stock company’s Agjabadi district gas exploitation department was sentenced to three and a half years’ imprisonment, while Ogtay Hasanov, an employee of the department, was fined in the amount of 500 manats ($625).
The charges against Azerigaz workers included embezzlement, abuse of power and forgery.*
