Flight-tactical exercises with Turkey kick off

Over the years, the Azerbaijani Army has gone through numerous improvements, which resulted in the fact that the present Azerbaijani Armed Forces are one of the strongest and most highly disciplined armies in the world and the leading one in the region.
The opening ceremony of the TurAz Qartalı - 2019 flight-tactical exercises has been held.
Lieutenant General Ramiz Tahirov, Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Commander of the Air Force, and Brigadier General Ismail Hakki Koseali, Military Attache of Turkey in Azerbaijan, attended the event.
After greeting the personnel participating in the exercises, Tahirov highlighted the attention and care of the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev for the Azerbaijani Army and emphasized the importance of the exercises.
Emphasizing that this is another indicator of the military power of Azerbaijan, Tahirov said that these exercises play an important role in the exchange of experience between the armies of Azerbaijan and Turkey.
In turn, noting the significance of the exercises held in Azerbaijan, Koseali stated that holding of such joint exercises has taken on a traditional character in recent years.
He congratulated the participants on the start of the exercises and wished them success in conducting high-level military aviation flights.
Then, detailed information on the purpose of the exercises, the training and deployment of personnel, the forces involved and the combat missions of aviation was presented.
TurAz Qartalı - 2019 flight-tactical exercises are distinguished by variety of aircraft of the Air Forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey such as MiG-29, F-16, Su-25 and Kasa P-235 as well as helicopters Mi-35, Mi-17, Sikorsky UH-70, CH-47 Chinook, and ATTACK/AH-1W.
Within the framework of the exercises, tasks on planning joint activities of the aircraft of Azerbaijan’s Air Force and Air, Naval and Land Forces of Turkey, studying the possibilities of interoperability and combat coordination in conducting operations, search and rescue operations, eliminating ground targets by airstrikes, as well as other tasks are fulfilled.
In general, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces consist of four branches: the Land Forces, the Air and Air Defense Force and the Navy. Each of them is equipped with new high-quality weapons both of domestic and foreign production.
Presently, Azerbaijan cooperates with such countries as Turkey, Israel, Russia, etc. in terms of purchasing the weaponry. At the same time, there are 28 military factories operating in the country, which consistently increase the volume of production.
In its latest report, the Global Firepower survey center, which conducts the constant monitoring of the armies worldwide, put Azerbaijan among the first 52 strongest armies of the world.
