Azerbaijan’s prolific oil fields bring stability to world energy markets, says a letter by US President Donald Trump to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“Congratulations to you and the people of Azerbaijan on the 25th anniversary of the International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and the first gas flowing into the Southern Gas Corridor,” Trump said in his letter. “I join you in celebrating a major milestone in three decades of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States.”
“As you also mark the 100th anniversary of your first independence, Azerbaijan is more prosperous and connected to the global economy than ever before. Your gas production will help ensure the energy security of Turkey and Europe.”
“I encourage Azerbaijan to advance your economic and judicial reforms that will build on the success of your energy project,” Trump said. “I look forward to working together to make our great countries and the Caucasus region more prosperous, peaceful, and secure.”
