In anticipation of the fifth Eastern Partnership summit planned to be held in Brussels Nov. 24 between Azerbaijan and the EU, a number of international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) began to attack Azerbaijan, the country’s MP, Vice-President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) Azay Guliyev said at a plenary session of the Azerbaijani Parliament.

The MP noted that these NGOs are trying to undermine the processes going on between Azerbaijan and the EU.

“Every time there are important processes between Azerbaijan and the EU, a network of these NGOs begins to show activity,” he said. “Looking at their list, it becomes clear that they are controlled by certain forces. Among them, there is an organization called “PIN”, which in the midst of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was carrying out trade of internal organs of Azerbaijani captives.”

Guliyev expressed hope that despite the activity of such NGOs, the relations between Azerbaijan and the EU will deepen.
