Another stage of work on expanding the telecommunications infrastructure in the Jojug Marjanli village, liberated from the Armenian occupation, is coming to an end, a source in Azerbaijan’s telecommunications market told Trend on November 1.

Thus, the main work on creation of telecommunications infrastructure in the village is already done. Today Jojug Marjanli is provided with an optical line of 10-kilometer length, cable and sewerage facilities, a local network infrastructure and automatic telephone station.

At the initial stage, 50 houses, a school and facilities of national importance were provided with telephone and Internet connection. Expansion work is carried out as the number of new buildings and houses increases. Currently, the construction of additional 100 houses is nearing completion, and they are also being connected to telephone communication and Internet.

Jojug Marjanli village was liberated by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces from the Armenian occupation in April 2016. In late January 2017, President Ilham Aliyev ordered to restore the village.

During the first phase of restoration, 50 private houses, a school, mosque, electric substation, hydrometeorological station, highway and other relevant infrastructure were constructed in Jojug Marjanli. The village was provided with gas, electricity and water supply.

The second phase of construction and restoration work and work on improvement and creation in Jojug Marjanli started on June 15 this year, and currently construction of new houses is ongoing in the village.
