The next stage of joint exercises of the Azerbaijani and Turkish Armed Forces was held on May 4 with participation of high-ranking observers from Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia.

The stage was held in accordance with the agreement reached during the meetings of defense ministers of the three countries held earlier in the trilateral format.

Within the framework of the "Day of High-Level Observers", a delegation of countries led by Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Commander of the corps of the Turkish Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mehmet Ozoglu, and Commander of the brigade of the Georgian Defense Ministry, Colonel Zurab Khvichia, watched the next stage of the exercises.

The high-ranking guests were fully briefed on the exercises on the basis of the terrain model board. Then, having familiarized with the military personnel and military equipment participating in the exercises, they observed the practical accomplishment of the tasks.

The units of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey participating in the exercises successfully completed all assigned tasks.

After the successful completion of the next stage of the exercises, the guests met with the military personnel. Distinguished servicemen were awarded, and a joint photo was taken.

The joint exercises of the Azerbaijani and Turkish Armed Forces started in Azerbaijan on May 1 in accordance with the agreement on military cooperation between the two countries.

The aim of the exercises is to improve coordination through the exchange of experience between the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as to achieve the interoperability of the military units of the two countries through joint headquarters planning, improving the readiness and capabilities of the units to conduct operations.

The joint exercises involve military personnel, armored vehicles, artillery launchers and mortars, military and transport helicopters of the Air Force, as well as air defense units and anti-aircraft missile units equipped with modern defensive systems to protect groupings from the air.

The exercises will last until May 5.

The Azerbaijani Army, which today is considered the most modern army in the Caucasus, consists of Air Force and Air Defense Forces, the Navy, and the Land Forces.

Today, Azerbaijani Army is one of the most powerful, highly disciplined armies in the world and the leading army in the region, which is equipped with modern military machinery.
