FM: Baku attached particular importance to developing ties with Cairo

The Azerbaijani-Egyptian relations and a wide range of issues of mutual interest were discussed in Cairo as Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail Mohamed on November 2.

The sides exchanged views further expanding cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, energy, transport, educational and humanitarian fields, Azertac reported.

The parties expressed assurance that another meeting of Joint Inter-Governmental Commission that expected to be held in end of November would contribute to development of the cooperation.

Ismail Mohamed highlighted the visit of Mammadyarov in terms of development of bilateral ties, adding such visits created fruitful opportunities for defining future directions of bonds.

Mammadyarov, in turn, said Azerbaijan attached particular importance to developing bilateral ties with Arabian countries, as well as with Egypt.

They also discussed boosting cooperation in the fields of tourism, pharmaceutics, information communication technologies, and agriculture.

During his official visit to Egypt, the minister earlier met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, expressed gratification with the cooperation and mutual support of Egypt and Azerbaijan in the international arena.

Mammadyarov also met with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Soukry.
