President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today arrived in Aghstafa district for a visit.

The head of state first laid flowers at a statue of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the center of the city of Aghstafa.

Head of Aghstafa District Executive Authority Maharram Guliyev informed President Ilham Aliyev about the landscaping and reconstruction work carried out around the statue. Large greenery was laid out, and a state-of-the-art lightning system installed in the area.

As part of his visit to Aghstafa, President Aliyev has viewed conditions created at the newly renovated Heydar Aliyev Center.

The construction of Heydar Aliyev Center started in February, 2008, and the building was inaugurated in September of the same year with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev. The repair and reconstruction work was carried out in the building in January-February, 2016. A 320-seat open air concert scene was built in the center. A bas-relief of national leader Heydar Aliyev was installed in the foyer of the four-storey building. There are exhibition halls featuring photos reflecting the national leader`s life and activity.

Exhibition halls of “Saloglu” furniture and "Akkord" sewing factories opened in the center. A 400-seat auditorium is supplied with modern sound equipment. The Center also has a small movie theatre and two conference halls.

President Ilham Aliyev also inaugurated “Modern” furniture factory as part of his visit to Aghstafa. The factory is an affiliate of “Saloğlu” furniture plant.

The head of state first viewed products of “Saloğlu” plant and familiarized himself with new projects of the enterprise.

The head of state was informed that the construction of the factory started in December, 2015. It features 7 production areas.

The President was also informed of “Venzana” factory which will be established as another affiliate of “Saloğlu” furniture plant. The factory will have four production areas, and its products will be both supplied to the local market and exported to Germany, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Sweden. “Yaşıl Bazar” complex and a hotel will be built here. The construction work under the project is scheduled to be completed in December, 2017. The project will create 2,500 permanent jobs.

The head of state laid a foundation stone for the factory.

The President also inaugurated a Music Center in Aghstafa.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the Center, which was built in 1970 and had operated within secondary school No.1 in the city so far.

There is a park and outdoor concert ground here. Modern irrigation and lighting systems were installed in the area.

The building of the Center was constructed under President Ilham Aliyev's Order dated 30 June, 2014. The 300-seat three-storey building was built in the shape of ancient Azerbaijani musical instrument oud. A bust to national leader Heydar Aliyev was installed in the foyer of the building. There are also photo stands here reflecting national leader Heydar Aliyev`s and President Ilham Aliyev`s visits to Aghstafa and their attention to the development of culture. Portraits of outstanding Azerbaijani composers are hung in the Center.

The new building has 39 classrooms, group and training rooms, a choir hall, a library and a kitchen-cafe.

President Ilham Aliyev viewed the conditions created in the Center.

The head of state was informed that Aghstafa Music Centre has a total enrollment of 269 pupils who are served by 90 teachers.

The education term includes five or seven academic years. A 400-seat state-of-the-art concert hall was built in the Center. The building which occupies a total construction area of 2,400 square metres was provided with central heating and air conditioning systems.

Following this, the president viewed conditions created at the newly-renovated Aghstafa District Cultural Center.

The head of state was informed that the building of the center was constructed in 1950. Renovation work here was completed in December, 2015.

The main audience of the center was renovated to receive 220 seats.

The building occupies a total area of 680 square metres.

The center houses a cafe, administrative and auxiliary offices, make-up rooms and a library.

The Eyvaz Qalamchali and Nusrat Kasamanli streets where the building is located were also reconstructed.

Then President Aliyev attended the opening of enterprises and a boiler house in “Karvan-L EKO” industrial park in Aghstafa.

The head of state opened the enterprises and the boiler house.He familiarized himself with the new enterprises.

The head of state then met with members of general public.

They posed together for photographs.
