MP talks on Armenia's appropriation of Azerbaijan's monuments
By Trend
After the resettlement in the territory of Azerbaijan, Armenians
began to appropriate cultural monuments, customs and traditions,
the way of life of Azerbaijani and other peoples, said Azerbaijani
MP Siyavush Novruzov.
He made the remarks at an international conference dedicated to the
issues of copyright and the fight against piracy and counterfeit
goods.
Novruzov also noted the serious problems related to appropriation
of monuments by Armenians in the occupied territories of
Azerbaijan.
He added that it is necessary to intensify the work on the
preservation of historical monuments.
"Within the framework of UNESCO and ISESCO conservation work is
carried out, however, close attention should be paid to the issue
of registration. We must fight with the false registration, which
is carried out by Armenians," Novruzov said.
He pointed out that the issue of registration is important for the
preservation of copyright. He reminded that during the Soviet
period any book, textbook or other publication could not be
published without registration.
"Today everyone can publish what he wants. One person changes the
cover and the names of the editors of the book, making it his own.
And the opposite side can not prove that this is his book. If the
copyrights to a book are registered, then others will not be able
to use it," said the MP.
