A video game “Shusha under occupation. Revenge” and the book “Know Karabakh” were presented in Baku on June 6.

Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov, Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizadeh, Head of Shusha region Executive Power Bayram Safarov, MPs and other guests attended the presentation.

Rahimov, addressing the event, stressed the importance of the newly-developed game. He added that the younger generation should know the history of Azerbaijan and must grow up in the spirit of patriotism.

The presented video game is an updated version of “Shusha under occupation” game released in 2012. The new version has improved technical performance, as well as an updated and improved strategy.

The game was developed by AzDimension company with the support of the Youth and Sports Ministry. Earlier AzDimension released the video game “Agdam under occupation,” while the presentation of the new game “The Last Lane” is planned for the end of the year.

On May 8, 1992, occupant Armenian armed forces seized Azerbaijan’s ancient town of Shusha in Nagorno-Karabakh region. Armenian armed forces killed and disabled hundreds of innocent Azerbaijani civilians, expelled the entire population of the town, and destroyed, burned down, and looted numerous cultural, religious and historical monuments. The occupant forces killed 195 civilians, while 165 persons wounded and 58 were taken hostages.

The occupation of Shusha and of Azerbaijan’s region of Nagorno-Karabakh in general resulted in killings of 20,000 Azerbaijanis and displacement of over 1 million people from their homes.

Armenia continues occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijan's territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions. The aggressor country rejects to implement four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal of its armed forces from Azerbaijani lands.
